Periment

This was a pronunciation class. I studied the /iː/ sound. Even though it is pronounced “ee,” the spelling can be a, i, e, or y. i and y were easier for me, but a and e were confusing, so it was difficult.

I don’t usually eat or buy junk food, so it was difficult to answer the questions. However, I sometimes eat gummies when I want a snack, and I like Haribo. I would like to try nachos someday, but I will be careful not to gain weight.

Pronunciation is extremely difficult for me. Even when I listen carefully, there are times when I think, “Wait, is that correct?” because some words sound different from what I expect. I especially get confused with the schwa sound and the pronunciation of /æ/, /ər/, and /ɪr/.
